Former DCW Commissioner LA Diamond says his farewell to DCW. LA Diamond had the following to say:
Well my career as DCW commissioner is now over. I am moving to New Mexico and starting a new chapter in my life. I would like to say thank you to all the fans that have supported me in my time with the company. When this comapny started a lot of people did not think it would succeed. A lot of people laughed and thought it was a joke, well they were all wrong. Due to the hard work of a lot of people it has become a very successful wrestling promotion. I am proud to say that I was one of the people that had faith it would work.
Months before DCW ever ran its first show in January 2008, it was Troy, me and my wife Lindsey (Demonica) that sat in our living room and talked about how to make this company a success. We talked about having to get some great talent and where that talent would come from. We talked about what direction this company was going to go in. Once a course was set we worked very hard to get this company off the ground. Troy got Kato and his talented crew of wrestlers on board, taht was the first and most important step, because without talented wrestlers no company will succeed. I convinced Troy to give one of my best friends in the whole world a shot at being the ring announcer and play by play guy, Don (Cyphert) Dawson, he has worked very hard and has impoved light years and is going ot be one of the best if that is what he wants. I talked to another of best friends in this world and convinced hime to come on board. That is our Senior Official Timmy Richards (Rich Allen). Anyone who has not seen him work, has no idea of how good he is. In my opinion, he is the best Referee in Pennsylvania, and would put him up against any ref in Indy wrestling, and that’s a Shoot. Lindsey made every poster, maintained the myspace page, and did everything possible to promote this company including radio interviews. Only a few people now how hard she worked behind the scenes to help get this company off the ground, and I am proud to call her my best friend and wife.
We were not the only ones that helped get this off the ground. Jack and John gave us the chance to get it started as well. It was their ring, license, and other equipment that was used for the first 10 months of DCW, and while we did not always see eye to eye, and still don’t, DCW would not have happened without them, so thanks you.
I want to thank every wrestler that I worked with over the past almost 2 years, they have always treated me with respect and I appreciate that. I especially want to thank 3 of them. First Bubba Brewer, he gave me my first shot at both doing commentary and even gave my my own interview segment on a show, for that Bubba thanks, you alllowe me to start my career in this business. Next Kato, he allowed me the chance to do color commentary for KCW, and while it was short lived, because of conflicts with my work schedule, it was some of the best times I have had in wrestling, KCW truly has a great product and has for many years. Also Thanks Kato for the kind words last night after the show, you are a true pro. Lastly Troy Justice, you gave me, my wife and one of my best friends the chance to live a dream, and that we did. Some people didn’t think you had what it took to run a promotion, but you have proved them wrong, so keep up the good work.
The last thng I want to say is just a couple years ago and for the ten years or so prior to that, Don, Rich, Lindsey and myself sat in the crowd and cheered and booed at every match in the area. If it wasn;t for us Rich wouldn’t have started in the business, if it wasn’t for him Lindsey probably wouldn’t have, if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have and if it wasn’t for me don wouldn’t have. We all traveled this long road together and that is what really made it fun and special. There have been ups and downs, good times and bad, but all in all I would change anything and I would not have rather gone down this road with 3 other people in this entire world. Thanks Don, Rich and Lindsey, I love you all.
Thanks to everyone, you know who you are if I didn’t mention you,
L.A. Diamond
